El Salvador's retreat scene is concentrated on the Pacific coast — El Tunco, El Zonte, El Sunzal — where surf culture and yoga have grown together over the last decade. El Zonte in particular has become a small but established yoga retreat destination, combining beachside practice with surf coaching. The inland city of Suchitoto and Lake Coatepeque host quieter yoga and silent retreats. Costs are notably lower than neighbouring Costa Rica or Guatemala's Atitlán scene. Spanish is the working language; English is widely spoken at international retreat centers. The dry season runs November–April; the green season has afternoon rain but lower prices.
