Dhamma Khetta
Pioneering Vipassana in the heart of India.
Dhamma Khetta, a pioneering center in the Vipassana tradition, holds a significant place in the history of meditation in India. What began in 1975 as a series of courses in a Hyderabad factory, quickly blossomed into a dedicated meditation center by 1976, making it the first of its kind in this tradition. Over the years, the center has expanded considerably, growing from its initial two acres to nearly seven, and continuously upgrading its facilities. With multiple Dhamma halls, a pagoda with 125 cells, and ongoing accommodation improvements, Dhamma Khetta is well-equipped to host a substantial number of meditators. It operates on a generous model, running by donation, and offers a consistent schedule of courses, including specialized options for children, making it an accessible and established destination for those seeking to deepen their practice.
