Colombia's retreat scene is one of the fastest-growing in Latin America. The Eje Cafetero (Coffee Region) — particularly Salento, Filandia, and Jardín — hosts yoga and meditation retreats in coffee fincas at comfortable altitude. The Caribbean coast around Palomino and Minca offers beach-and-jungle yoga retreats; the nearby Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is home to indigenous Kogi and Wiwa communities, and some retreats include respectful cultural exchanges. The Sacred Valley of the Sibundoy in Putumayo and parts of the Amazon host traditional plant-medicine retreats (yagé/ayahuasca, San Pedro) with indigenous taitas; choose centers with verifiable lineage and on-site safety protocols. Medellín and Bogotá have growing urban meditation and breathwork scenes. Colombia is also an emerging destination for cacao ceremonies and women's circles. Spanish is the working language; international retreats run in English. Most Western passports enter visa-free for 90–180 days. The dry seasons (December–March and July–August) are the most comfortable retreat windows. Cost: $700–$2,000 for a week-long retreat; traditional plant-medicine dietas typically run longer. Colombia is generally more affordable than Costa Rica or Peru for comparable retreat formats.
